Hello all! A little bit about me

Petting a Cheetah in South Africa. They purr just like a house cat!

I am a California native currently loving life in Northern Nevada. I am a digital marketer, craft beer enthusiast, yogi, adventure seeker and if you can’t tell a travel addict! I quit my corporate finance job in November of 2015 to see the world! It was one of the best decisions of my life, and I am thankful every day I had the ability to make such a decision. It wasn’t easy. I had a pretty cush job, and I didn’t hate my life, but I could tell something was missing. Something was off. So I packed up all of my things, quit my job, moved back to my parent’s in California and took off. During my ‘gap year’ I was lucky enough to visit New Zealand, England, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, South Africa, Peru, New York, Texas, Alaska and various spots along the California coast. Once I returned home from my travels, it was time to hit the ground running and look for work. I did not want to go back to my cushy finance job. I wanted to move back to Reno and embark on a new adventure in Digital Marketing. After what seemed like forever, I finally landed a marketing job. Although I am once again a working stiff, traveling continues to be my passion. Perhaps, one day I’ll be able to take my job on the road with me and see what other world wonders await.

International Travel and My Blog

I started my blog as a way to keep family and friends informed of my trip, and I posted pictures to social media as a way to share my adventures. As time went on, I started to gain followers, and people responding to my blog about how much they enjoyed it, or thanks for the information. People I had never met before were adding places I had visited to their bucket list. It was thrilling to see the public react to my blog and pictures. I started to use SEO and SEM to increase web traffic to my blog and social media accounts. I began analyzing the data provided by WordPress to determine my strengths and weaknesses, what topics people enjoyed most, and what tags came up most frequently to name a few. I took lessons in Photoshop to enhance my photos. I also took classes in HTML and CSS for the day I pay for WordPress and can completely customize my site. I had such a life changing experience while abroad and gained valuable digital knowledge. I also enhanced my skills in relationship building and communication as I developed a great rapport with people I met from all over the world. In case you were wondering, yes, I was traveling by myself. It was my once in a life time experience.

Yes! That is Mount Doom! Or Mount Ngauruhoe as they call it in NZ
